about

Bassist James Ilgenfritz presents over 70 minutes of uncompromisingly singular interpretations of the music of Anthony Braxton, all adapted to the unlikely format of solo contrabass. This recording features a mix of materials from the last 45 years of Anthony Braxton's innovative compositional formings, ranging from quartet pieces dating to the early 1970s to trumpet cadenzas from Composition 103 for seven trumpets, to orchestral bass parts and Ghost Trance Music pieces from the last ten years.
